Line

You can use this tool to draw a line.

Polyline

You can use this tool to draw a polyline. You can draw a new polyline or use existing elements. The original elements are retained in the process.

Point

You can use this tool to place a point. The point has no extents.

Rectangle

You can use this tool to draw a rectangle. The rectangle can be created in four different ways: by entering two diagonally opposite points, base line and height, center line and height, or center and a corner.

Circle

You can use this tool to draw a full circle or arc by specifying a center point, radius and start/end angle or arc length. In addition, you can draw a full circle or arc based on two points or by specifying three points or two points and the radius.

Polygon

You can use this tool to draw a regular polygon.

Ellipse

You can use this tool to draw a closed or open ellipse.

Spline

You can use this tool to draw a spline. A spline is a curve that connects a predefined sequence of control points as smoothly as possible. The spline can be connected to an existing element at any angle in its start and end point. You can also apply a symbol to its start and/or end.

Point Symbol

You can use this tool to place a point as a symbol.

freehand line

You can use this tool to draw a freehand line.

You can use this tool to draw a perpendicular bisector.

Tangent

You can use this tool to draw a tangent on a circle or an arc.

Array

You can use this tool to copy elements along the x and y axes within a rectangular or custom grid in a single step.

Fit

You can use this tool to fit copies of existing elements in an array within a polygonal-bounded area.

Angle Bisector

You can use this tool to draw an angle bisector. The lines can already exist, or you can define them by specifying their start and endpoints. The starting point of the angle bisector is the (virtual) point where the two lines forming the angle meet. The direction of the angle bisector can stretch in all four of the areas formed by the intersecting lines.

Intersect 2 Entities

You can use this tool to extend or shorten two entities to the point where they intersect. The connected elements can be trimmed.

Fillet

You can use this tool to fillet elements.

Chamfer

You can use this tool to chamfer the angle between lines, polylines and segments of polylines.

In the case of continuous polyline segments, a new polyline segment is inserted. In the case of non-consecutive polyline segments, the polyline segments in between are deleted.

Cut with Element

You can use this tool to cut design entities using a line. The entities (elements) are divided at the point where the line intersects. The new, discrete elements generated in this manner can now be manipulated (deleted, for example) as separate entities.

Cut with Area

You can use this tool to cut design entities using an area. Design entities like lines, circles, hatching or patterns are cut into discrete entities where they are intersected by the boundary of the area. You can address all the elements in the area you defined and select a manipulation function (e.g. delete) immediately after defining the area by double-clicking with the right mouse button in the workspace.

Delete Double Lines

You can use this tool to delete superimposed lines or line segments. Congruent circles, ellipses, curves and segments thereof also count as doubled lines.

Auto-Delete Segment

You can use this tool to delete the segment of an element between two points of intersection.

Delete Segment of Line

You can use this tool to delete segments of design entities. You can address either single entities, polylines or composite elements.

Divide Element

You can use this tool to divide an existing element or a line that you enter into a number of equal segments. Point symbols are placed at the division points.

Combine Overlapping Lines

You can use this tool to convert superimposed lines to single lines. You can specify whether all lines, including pattern lines, are to be selected and converted, or whether pattern lines are to be excluded from the operation.

Combine Congruent Lines, Circles, Polylines

You can use this tool to combine lines, circles and polylines that are either partly congruent or that touch to form a single element or polyline. If the elements have different format properties (line color, for example), you can define the format properties for the new polyline. The elements must be in the same document and on the same layer.

Combine Lines to Make Polylines

You can use this tool to join connecting lines and make a single polyline. The automation is interrupted at branches and you can decide which branch to follow. If the format properties of the lines differ (e.g. line color), you can define the format properties for the new polyline in a dialog box.
You can also use this tool to join architectural elements like baseboard (Rooms, Surfaces, Stories module), building boundaries (Urban Planning module) and hedges (Landscaping module) later. The new element automatically assumes all the properties of the element you clicked first.

Split Polylines into Discrete Lines

You can use this tool to split a polyline into discrete lines. The lines assume the format properties of the original element.

Trim Lines to Element

You can use this tool to shorten or lengthen lines and polylines as far as the point where they intersect a reference element you specify. This can be a line, polyline, arc, circle, ellipse or spline. In the Input options, you can specify whether you want to trim to the (virtual) point where the line to be trimmed and the extension of the reference element intersect.

Delete Duplicates

You can use this tool to merge a number of identical, congruent elements to form a single element and delete the redundant elements. This is very useful if you have accidentally placed several copies of an element in the same place. With this tool, you can delete the redundant copies.

Align

You can use this tool to align design entities horizontally and vertically and/or center them.

Arrange

You can use this tool to arrange design entities at regular intervals. The two outer elements remain unchanged; the other elements are distributed evenly according to the selected option.

Reshape Surface Element, Architectural Area

You can use this tool to reshape areas with hatching, patterns, fills, bitmaps, style areas or architectural elements (slabs, rooms, net stories, floors, ceilings, roof covering) or to remove such areas.

Split Surface Elements, Archit. Elements

You can use this tool to split hatching, patterns, fills, bitmaps, style areas and architectural elements (walls, columns, slabs, beams, upstands, rooms, net stories, floors, ceilings) into two parts. This can be useful if you need to split up the 3D plan while creating the layout.

Merge Surface Elements, Archit. Elements

You can use this tool to merge two areas of hatching, patterns, fills, bitmaps, style areas and architectural elements (walls, slabs, beams, upstands, rooms, net stories, floors and ceilings) to form a single element.

Convert Surface Element

You can use this tool to convert surface elements (hatching, patterns, fills, bitmap areas or style areas) to surface elements of the same or a different type. You can also use the tool simply to modify the properties of a surface element.

Modify Pattern Line

You can use this tool to change the parameters of existing pattern lines.
