Dividing elements
Module(s): Draft + Site Plan
You can use the Divide Element tool to divide an existing element or a line that you enter into a number of equal segments. If you access this tool from the Draft module, the program places point symbols at the division points. In the Site Plan module, the program places terrain points.
To divide an existing element
- Click Divide Element (How).
- Define the parameters for the division in the Input Options:
- Specify whether you want to divide the Selected element in its entirety or a Part of the selected element.
- Click Select point symbol to choose a in the Draft module or to open the site plan-specific point definition in the Site Plan module.
- Specify the size of the selected point symbol in the corresponding box.
- Click the element you want to divide. When set to Part of selected element, specify the section by clicking the .
Note: When you click points outside the element, the points on the element that are perpendicular to the points you clicked are used.
- Enter the number of divisions in the dialog line and press ENTER to confirm.
The program places point symbols or terrain points at the division points.
To divide an imaginary line
- Click Divide Element (How).
- Define the parameters for the division in the Input Options:
- Click Select point symbol to choose a in the Draft module or to open the site plan-specific point definition in the Site Plan module.
- Specify the size of the selected point symbol in the corresponding box.
- Define the line by .
- Enter the number of divisions in the dialog line and press ENTER to confirm.
The program places point symbols or terrain points at the division points.
