Folding lines

You can use the Fold Line tool to fold 2D or 3D lines or edges of 3D surfaces. The line or edge is divided so that two new lines are created. The original line is deleted. All the lines that are congruent with the line you click are folded (including hatching boundary lines).

To fold a line

1. Click Fold Line (How).
   

   Activate Fold Line in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Edit More Tools

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Edit flyout
2. Click the line or edge you want to fold.

   The line's 'foldpoint' is shown attached to the crosshairs.

3. Click a point on the line where you want to fold it.
   

   • Click the point.
   • Align to points using the linear snap function and click the point.
   • Define the point by making entries in the dialog line.
