Fill

Module(s): Paint + Draft

You can use the Fill tool to apply a fill to areas. You can also create fills with gradients and transparency using the advanced options in the Select RGB Color dialog box.

Note: Remember the restrictions when you want to print fills with gradients and/or transparency.

To apply a fill

  1. Click Fill (How).
  2. If you want, you can now change the parameters of the fill on the context toolbar or select a different color. Do the following:
  3. Enter the outline of the area to which the fill is to be applied as you would a normal polyline.

Tip: A selected boundary polygon is displayed in the color currently set on the Format toolbar. This is useful if you want to enter areas composed of several parts using the Multi option ( Plus option) or areas with holes ( Minus option): The color of the boundary polygon indicates which area has already been selected.

Tip: You can control the sequence in which fills are displayed using Sequence on the shortcut menu or Modify Format Properties.
You can configure the program to display fills and filled lines in the background only or to hide these elements completely. This can be set with the Show/Hide (Default toolbar).
