Pattern definition

You can use the Merge Surface Elements, Archit. Elements tool to merge parts of hatching, patterns, fills, bitmap areas, style areas or architectural elements (walls, slabs, beams, upstands, rooms, floors and ceilings) to form a single element.

You can only merge the same elements, e.g. fill with fill or wall with wall. The first element you click defines the properties of the new element.

Note: You can merge only two architectural elements. When it comes to 2D elements, on the other hand, you can merge multiple elements.

To merge parts of hatching, patterns, fills, bitmap areas, style areas or architectural elements to form a single element

1. Click Merge Surface Elements, Archit. Elements (How).
   

   Activate Merge Surface Elements, Archit. Elements in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Draft

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Draft flyout
   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Draft

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   Landscaping

   Urban Planning

   Object Manager

   • Configuration: Architecture Architecture Edit flyout
   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Modifications flyout
2. Click the first element.

   The properties of this element will be used for the new element.

3. Now select the element(s) you want to merge with the first one. This depends on the element type.

   For architectural elements:

   • Click the second element.
     The elements are merged immediately.

     For 2D elements such as hatching, patterns, fills, bitmap areas or style areas:

   • Click more elements or open a selection rectangle.
   • Click the right mouse button to confirm.
