Pattern definitions, overview

Allplan comes with various ready-made patterns (depending on the configuration). You can modify and define patterns in the Pattern defaults. You can use numbers between 1 and 255 as well as 511 and 999. The patterns 256 – 510 are Nemetschek default patterns and cannot be edited or redefined. Patterns are project resources. When you modify the definition of a pattern, all areas to which this pattern is applied will change accordingly. For more information, see Using project resources.

Note: The You are modifying the patterns in the office path message is displayed to remind you that any changes you make will alter the office standard and all projects that are associated with the office standard and that use the pattern you are about to modify.

Note: When you open the editor from a NDW-format file, only the patterns in the relevant NDW file are displayed. When you open the editor from a drawing file or layout, the patterns available in the office or project are displayed.

When you activate the Pattern defaults, a pattern element and a construction line-format editing frame are displayed. You can use the editing frame to edit this element. To do this, you can use the tools on the Edit menu as well as numerous tools in the Draft, Advanced Draft and Text modules. The frame contains a grid of dots to help you.

Note: When defining patterns, you can also use tools from the Text module. To improve the display quality of patterns, text is broken down into polylines and normal lines when you finish the Pattern definition. Thus, it cannot be modified as text at a later stage.

Tip: The number of the current pattern is displayed in the title bar.
