Using Resources in Drawing Files

Resources are data used by the program. Resources used in drawing files can be saved either in the project (= project-specific) or in the office standard (=office-specific). Exception: the drawing symbol regulations can be in the default folder or in the office standard (see Drawing symbols, urban planning).

Resources used in NDW-format files are saved in the relevant document.

The project resources include the following data:

When creating projects, you can specify whether project-specific or office-specific resources are used (this assignment can be changed later). When you select the project-specific setting, you can specify whether a copy of the office standard or of another project is to be used. This way, you can change the resources without modifying the office standard itself. Project-specific resources are saved in the folder of the relevant project.

When you opt for the office-specific setting, the program uses the resources of the office standard. Office-specific resources are saved in the ...\std folder.

You can change these settings later. Bear in mind, though, that when you switch from project-specific to office-specific, all the changes you have made to the resources of the project in question are lost.

To modify the resources, go to the Tools menu and click Defaults. When the resources are set to project-specific, only the resources of the selected project are modified. But when the resources are set to office-specific, the office standard itself is modified and thus all the projects based on the office standard. When you are working with Workgroup Manager in a network environment, you need to be logged on as administrator to modify the office standard.

What do you want to do?
