Align

Module(s): Draft

You can use the Align tool to align design entities horizontally and vertically. In addition, they can also be centered.

To align design entities

1. Click Align (How).
   

   Activate Align in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Draft

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Draft

2. Use the Input options to specify how the elements are to be aligned:
   • Align left
     The selected elements are aligned with the left edge of the selected element that is furthest left.
   • Center vertically
     The selected elements are centered vertically.
   • Align right
     The selected elements are aligned with the right edge of the selected element that is furthest right.
   • Align with top
     The selected elements are aligned with the top edge of the selected element that is at the top.
   • Center horizontally
     The selected elements are centered horizontally.
   • Align with bottom
     The selected elements are aligned with the bottom edge of the selected element that is at the bottom.
3. Select the elements you want to align.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

   The elements are aligned immediately.
