Using the filter assistant

The Filter Assistant toolbar includes tools to assist you in the process of selecting elements. The tools on the toolbar become active when the program expects you to select elements - after selecting a modification tool, for example. Using the Filter Assistant toolbar, you can restrict selection to specific types of elements or to just elements with specific properties. In addition, you can match the filter criteria from an existing element, as well as specify which elements are affected by selection rectangles.
