Delete Segment of Line

Module(s): Draft + Site Plan

You can use the Delete Segment of Line tool to delete segments of design entities. You can address either single entities, polylines or composite elements.

To delete segments of lines and curves

1. Click Delete Segment of Line (How).
   

   Activate Delete Segment of Line in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Draft

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Draft flyout
   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Draft

   Site Plan

2. Click the element.
3. Click two points to define the line segment you want to delete.
   If the points you click are not directly on the element, the program finds the perpendicular projection of these points on the element and deletes the segment between them.
4. If you clicked a polyline: Specify the polyline edit mode using the Input options.

Example

To delete segments of circles and arcs

1. Click Delete Segment of Line (How).
2. Click the circle or arc.
3. Specify the area to be deleted in one of the following ways:
   • Place the from point and to point.
   • Specify the angular offset and the delta angle.

Note: Segment deletion is always executed in a counterclockwise direction.
