Cut with Element

Module(s): Draft

You can use the Cut with Element tool to cut design entities using a line. The entities (elements) are divided at the point where the line intersects. The new, discrete elements generated in this manner can now be manipulated (deleted, for example) as separate entities.

To cut design entities using a line

1. Click Cut with Element (How).
   

   Activate Cut with Element in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Draft

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Draft

2. Click the line(s) intersecting the entities or elements.

   The design entities intersected by the line(s) are now divided at the point where the line intersects.

3. Press ESC to quit the tool.
