Offset Polyline

Module(s): Draft

You can use the Offset Polyline tool to draw one or more offset polylines based on an existing elements.

To draw an offset polyline

1. Click Offset Polyline (How).
   

   Activate Offset Polyline in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Draft

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Draft flyout
   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Draft

2. Enter the desired number of offset polylines (max. 20).
3. Enter the spacing between the reference polyline and the offset polyline(s).

   The spacing you enter refers to the initial element.

4. Click the first point.
5. Use the Context toolbar to specify whether the polyline is to be created to the right or to the left of the reference element.

   To the right:

   

   (1) Direction
   (A) Negative offset
   (B) Positive offset

   To the left:

   

   (1) Direction
   (A) Negative offset
   (B) Positive offset

6. Click the other points.

Note: To produce a closed figure, the last corner you click should coincide with the first one.
