Creating legends, important steps

You can use legends to analyze the information contained in architectural elements, smart symbols and so on.

Using the Define Legend tool, you can perform quantity takeoffs interactively and analyze architectural component-related data in the active drawing files. The legend is placed in the drawing file and adjusts associatively to the changes of the components.

The form and content of a legend are fully user-definable. You can customize the legend layout for your needs.

Creating a legend basically involves the following steps:

  1. Define the layout (using the tools in the Draft module) and the individual cells using Define Cell.

How to modify existing legends

Existing legends can be modified with the Modify Legends tool.

You can also copy the legends from the Default folder (this is where the legends that come with Allplan are located) to the Office folder and then modify them there to suit your own needs and requirements.

How to use custom custom legends or legends provided with Allplan

To output custom legends or legends that come with Allplan, select the Legend tool.
