Tool(s): Modify Legends

To change the properties of a cell in an existing legend

1. Click Modify Legends (How).
   

   Activate Modify Legends in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Bonus Tools Templates: Reports, Legends, Labels

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Templates: Reports, Legends, Labels

2. As only the legends you have created yourself may be modified, click Office.
3. Select the legend you want to modify.
4. Click Element Information.
5. Click the cell.
6. Make your changes:
   • List region: this is where the region of the legend (header, row etc.) is shown.
   • Cell number: this shows the number of the cell; you can change it.
   • Cell contents: specify whether the cell is to contain a formula or an attribute. Use this to change the cell type; you can also modify the contents of the cell by clicking the button.
   • View: click View to get information from parent smart symbols.
   • Description: use this to define an XML tag for formulas.
   • Output format: use this to change the cell's format.
   • Unit: use this to change the cell's unit.
   • Additional settings
     

     List entry
     You can use this option to enter text in a cell.

     Insert entry on each page
     When this option is selected, the text you enter appears on each page of the legend.

     Do not show cell
     You can use this option to hide individual cells.
     This option is useful if, for example, a piece of information is required for the final total but should not appear in each row.

     Sum up results
     When you enable this option, the results of a cell are added up automatically (as with the Quantity attribute).
     You can use this option when you want to add up areas with the same names, for example.

   • Orientation: use this to place cells so that they are left-aligned, right-aligned or flush with the bottom edge.
7. Click OK to confirm the dialog box.
8. Press ESC to quit the Info tool.
9. When you have made all the necessary changes, press ESC to quit Modify Legends.
10. You can specify whether you want to
    discard,
    save or
    write the changes to the current drawing file.
