You can use the Bridge/Civil Engineering Component tool to quickly and easily create bridge and civil engineering components by defining individual cross-sections at the station points of a linear path.

To create a bridge and civil engineering component

  1. Click Bridge/Civil Engineering Component (How).
  2. Click the Route... entry in the tree structure with the right mouse button, select New Route... on the shortcut menu and enter a name for the new route
    Or
    click to import an existing route.

    Note: The tools for creating routes are also provided on the Route toolbar and on the File and Edit menus. This way, you can create routes even when the tree structure is hidden.
    To delete, rename or copy an existing route, select the route or one of its station points in the tree structure or Elevation preview and select the function you want to use on the shortcut menu, Route toolbar or Edit menu.

  3. If necessary, select the new route and create a station point using the shortcut menu, Station toolbar or Edit menu.

    Note: To delete or modify existing station points, select the relevant points in the tree structure or Elevation preview and select the function you want to use on the shortcut menu, Station toolbar or Edit menu.

  4. If necessary, select the new station point in the tree structure or Elevation preview and create the corresponding cross-section using the shortcut menu, Cross-Section toolbar or Edit menu.

    Note: To delete or modify existing cross-sections, select the corresponding station point in the tree structure or Elevation preview and select the function you want to use on the shortcut menu, Cross-Section toolbar or Edit menu.
    You can use to apply cross-sections calculated automatically by the program to the current station point.

  5. Create more station points and if necessary, assign additional cross-sections to these points.
  6. If necessary, define the parameters for the automatic definition of the route profile.
  7. If necessary, create more bridge and civil engineering components.
  8. Save the component data so that you can import the data later using Open.... You can export the route by selecting it or one of its station points and choosing the desired function on the shortcut menu, Route toolbar or File menu.

    Note: You cannot save data in demo versions.
