Entering station points

The route consists of Station points.
Specify the position of the individual station points by entering their coordinates, the angle of rise, the angle in plan and the stationing (offset to station origin). You can define an offset for entering the coordinates and the angle in plan.

Values of station points

Each station point has the following values:

• X, Y and Z coordinate (in m):
  The coordinates refer to the global coordinate system.
  If you have imported a route with individual sections and the new stationing is within the route, the X and Y coordinates cannot be defined.
  If the route profile is defined automatically, you do not need to specify the Z coordinate.
• Angle of rise (in °):
  If the angle is > 0°, the route rises; otherwise it falls. If the route profile is defined automatically, you do not need to specify the angle of rise.
• Angle in plan (in °):
  Positive angles result in a counter-clockwise rotation. If you have imported a route consisting of individual sections, and the new stationing is within the route, you cannot define the angle in plan.
• Stationing (in m):
  Offset to station origin.
  If you have imported a route with individual sections and the new stationing is within the route, the location of the station point in plan is determined automatically. If you enter a stationing outside the route, you need to specify the station point in plan. This defines a new straight section.

When you have not selected the Align cross-section profiles with z axis option in the General Properties, the program uses the angle of rise to rotate the cross-section in the longitudinal direction of the route. The program uses the stationing to sort the station points automatically, to calculate the cross-section automatically and to determine the position of the reference and rotation points using linear interpolation.

Specify where you want to insert the current station point in the route. With the Arrange station points automatically option, the program automatically places the station point in its correct position in the route.
When you have configured the program to automatically calculate the route in plan, you cannot make any definitions here.

Note: You can configure the program to calculate the route in plan and the route profile automatically. Station points in curved sections in plan are marked with blue points and station points in curved sections in the route profile are marked with red points. In addition, the dialog box shows detailed information.

• If you have imported a route with individual sections and the new stationing is within the route, you cannot define the X and Y coordinates and the angle in plan. If you enter a stationing outside the route, you need to specify the station point in plan. This defines a new straight section.
• If Automatic definition of route profile is active, you cannot specify the Z coordinate and the angle of rise.
