Offset definition

Tool(s): Properties of the bridge/civil engineering designer

Defining an offset enables you to move and rotate the entire route, which is moved from the global coordinate system into the local coordinate system defined by the offset. This simplifies the entry of the individual station points.

You can define a separate offset for each route. The offset you specify only applies to the entries you make in the bridge and civil engineering designer and does not affect the export of routes; in other words, the original route of the global coordinate system is always exported.

To define an offset

  1. Select the relevant route or one of its station points and click General Properties on the Default toolbar or Edit menu.
  2. Select the Offset Definition tab.
  3. Enable the Active Offset option.
  4. Enter the Offset coordinates for the displacement in [m] and the Offset angle for the rotation in [°].

Note: The values set are added to the original values or subtracted from the offset values. If the offset is enabled, OFF is displayed in the status bar.
