Circular reinforcement

Module(s): Bar Reinforcement

You can use the Circular Reinforcement tool to create and place circular and spiral reinforcement for round components in a single step. Parameters are defined and modified using the palette.
Reinforcement can only be created in a 3D general arrangement drawing.

To create circular and spiral reinforcement for round components

  1. Click Circular Reinforcement (How).
  2. Select a reinforcement type in the list box at the top in the Circular Reinforcement palette.
Click to open a dialog box that displays all the reinforcement types graphically.
  3. Define the general mark properties and the bending shape-specific parameter of the circular or spiral reinforcement.
Most geometric parameters are also displayed in the graphics area, where you can define them by clicking. The parameter area updates immediately to reflect your entries.
  4. Specify the two points of the axis of rotation and the corners of the outline on one side of the axis of rotation. You can do this in an associative view or section or in a view or section created with the Shell module.
When entering the outline, make sure that the points are within the view/section. If you click to the right of the axis of rotation to define the first point, the positive concrete cover is applied to the left of the outline.

Note: After you have specified the position of the axis of rotation in space, the program creates the lateral surface of the placement by rotating the outline about the axis of rotation. By defining the outline, you specify a single surface line of this area. In the case of spiral reinforcement, you define the outline in the direction of the axis of rotation or at an angle to it. It is not possible to define areas that are perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

Important: To ensure that the placing polygon and reinforcement are created correctly, you must define the axis of rotation and outline in the same view/section. If the axis of rotation is not within the view/section, you can create a 3D line at the center of the circle in plan and add this 3D line to the view/section. With sections, you can also display and enlarge the section object so that the axis of rotation is within the section object.

If views of the same transformation matrix are superimposed, you may be able to make entries in different views (this only applies when you are not working on a cross-file basis).

  5. Press ESC to finish entering the outline and click a point in an additional view, section or in the 3D component in order to define the missing coordinate, which is required for the position of the axis of rotation in space.

Note: You can also define the axis of rotation and the outline in an inclined 3D view of the 3D component. In this case, you do not need to define the position of the axis of rotation in space.

  6. When creating circular reinforcement, specify the position of the placement (if input is based on the offset) and change the parameters, if necessary.
Any changes you make are immediately displayed in the preview.
  7. Press ESC or continue to create spiral reinforcement.

To modify circular and spiral reinforcement for round components

  1. Click a reinforcing bar of the placement and select Circular reinforcement or Spiral reinforcement in the list box at the top in the Properties palette.

Note: You can only modify a single placement at any one time. When you have selected several placements, Allplan does not display a suitable entry in the list box at the top in the Properties palette.

  2. Modify the general mark properties and the bending shape-specific parameter of the circular or spiral reinforcement as you need.

    The changes are updated immediately.

Note: You can use Save as a favorite to save the settings and Load favorite to read the settings back into the palette, where you can modify them. Click Favorite QuickSelect to select from the five favorites you have used most recently.
