Parameters for spiral reinforcement

Tool(s): Circular Reinforcement

In addition to general mark properties, you can define the following parameters in the Cross-section tab.

Same concrete cover

When you select this check box, the program applies the same concrete cover to all the edges. In this case, you only need to enter the concrete cover once.

If this check box is not selected, you can enter separate values for the concrete covers at the start and at the end and for the concrete cover of the placement itself. You can see the position of each concrete cover in the graphics. There you can also click a bar and define the value.

Component factor

You can enter a factor for placements of spiral reinforcement that are displayed just once but that occur several times. This factor is only taken into account for the reinforcement management and the schema.

Pitch of spiral

Use this to enter the general loop height (for a full circle). This length is always applied so that it is parallel to the outline.

When you place the bars per meter, this area is not available.

Start of rings/End of rings/Number

When you select this check box, the program creates the number of rings specified at the start and/or end of the spiral. These rings are located directly on top of each other.

Region.../Length of region .../Pitch of spiral ...

You can define two additional regions at the start and/or end of the spiral by checking the relevant box(es) and entering the length of the region and the pitch of the spiral.
If you do not activate the first and/or last region, the next and/or previous region automatically becomes the first and/or last region.

When you use bars cut to length, this area is not available.

Hook at start/end

You can create hooks. When this check box is selected, a hook is created and you can define additional parameters.

Hook angle at start/end

Select a value in the list box or enter any value. These angles are always entered in degrees [°], regardless of the unit of angle set.

Hook length at start/end

Enter a value for the hook length. The program automatically enters the default value when you change the diameter.
