BAMTEC® is a new, very economical reinforcement technology for area reinforcement (slabs). With this technology, the process encompassing structural analysis to plan generation through to execution is considerably simplified.

BAMTEC® is based on the area reinforcement used in reinforced concrete and fully exploits the benefits afforded by computer technology in engineering offices and production robots in the bar bending shops.
The top and bottom reinforcement layers are optimized separately for both unroll directions. Lap joints are kept to a minimum, resulting in material-savings of up to 25%.

As the BAMTEC® carpets are prefabricated, the number of marks to be placed is reduced considerably. Compared with reinforcement placed in a conventional manner, the time required for placing BAMTEC carpets can be cut down by approximately 15%.

The individual steps are linked; the data is transmitted straight from the engineering office to the bending shops. This ensures consistency between the structural calculation, the display model and implemented reinforcement.

Procedure

The structural calculation is performed using a finite elements program. A possible increase in the longitudinal reinforcement due to punching shear can be taken into account using HALFEN-DEHA’s program for performing punching shear analyses, which is integrated in Allplan.
The design results are available in the BAMTEC® module. This is where the area reinforcement, based on the design data and in compliance with the applicable standards, is created
The construction documents are created automatically in the BAMTEC® module.
The data for creating the carpets in the rod bender shop are transmitted directly from Allplan to the production robots.
The individual bars are tied together with a welded flat steel bar strip. These carpets are rolled up and shipped to the building site. There the carpets are rolled out in the formwork prepared for this purpose. There are carpets for the longitudinal reinforcement and for the transverse reinforcement.
