Shell entities

You need to create a shell entity based on the 3D floor plan only if you want to use the Shell module for creating general arrangement and reinforcement drawings.
When you work with the Associative Views module, you can create the reinforcement directly in the 3D floor plan and the relevant associative views.

Shell

Using the tools in the Associative Views and Shell modules, you can create views and sections at any time during the reinforcement process. These will update automatically to reflect any changes you make to the reinforcement. If views are not available when you create the first reinforcement element (2D general arrangement drawing or 3D floor plan without associative views), the program creates associative views.

Entering and placing reinforcement

You can place reinforcement on a view-based basis or as area reinforcement using the tools in the Bar Reinforcement and Mesh Reinforcement modules.

• Placing in view:
  Using the Enter tool, you can manually define the position and shape of the reinforcement in a view or section. Using the Bar Shape and Mesh Shape tools, you can enter the bending shape using the options for entering points or you can make the bending shape expand to adapt to the outline of an existing shell.
  After the bending shape has been created, it is placed in an orthogonal view or section (e.g., column).
• Area reinforcement:
  Start by selecting the type of area reinforcement (column reinforcement, span reinforcement etc.) and the shape of the placing bar. You can then place it in an area view (e.g., slab).

Schemas of the reinforcement can be created automatically at any time.

Reinforcement schedules

Reinforcement schedules are generated automatically as you work and can be output using the module-specific tools at any time.
