Dimension Line, Label

Module(s): Bar Reinforcement + BAMTEC

You can use the Dimension Line, Label tool to dimension and label placements you have already created. Define the parameters in the palette.
You can make various formatting settings on the Labels page of the reinforcement options.

To create dimensioning and labels at a later stage

  1. Click Dimension Line, Label (How).
  2. Click a bar in the placement to be dimensioned and labeled.

If the dimension line type is set to Dimension line but this type cannot be used for the selected placement, the program will issue an appropriate message. Select a different dimension line type or click the bar again.
When you have selected this tool on the shortcut menu, the program will issue a message and switch automatically to the Fan type.

  3. Select the dimension line type in the list box at the top of the palette, specify the dimension line parameters for the Dimension line type or the text parameters and format properties of the mark number for the Mark symbols type, define the settings in the input options and place the dimension line or the mark number.
    Or
    Skip dimensioning by pressing ESC.
  4. Select the Automatic mark number option in the input options if the program is to create the mark number at the beginning or end of the label depending on the drop-in point specified and define the Anchor point of the label, if necessary.

If you have selected the Separate option for the mark number on the Reinforcement - Label page of the Options, a two-line label is created. The leader acts as a separator and the mark number is attached to the end of the leader. In this case, you need to specify whether the label is placed horizontally or in the direction of the other labels.

  5. Specify the label parameters, place the label of the placement or the definition bar (you can define the text angle in advance) and create the leader manually if necessary.
    Or:
    Skip labeling by pressing ESC.
  6. When you have configured Allplan to create a layer symbol ( Options, Reinforcement - Label page) and you have not yet placed this symbol along with the label, you can now select a Layer symbol in the Leader area of the palette and click the drop-in point or a bar segment.
    Or
Skip layer marking by pressing ESC.

Note: You can use Match parameters to match the parameters of another bar label. You can use Save as a favorite to save the settings and Load favorite to read the settings back into the palette, where you can modify them. Click Favorite QuickSelect to select from the five favorites you have used most recently.
