Intersect Timber, Steel Elements with Archit. Components

Module(s): Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

You can use the Intersect Timber, Steel Elements with Archit. Components tool to make timber and steel elements (e.g. rafters or beams) intersect existing architectural components (e.g. roof covering).

Note:

Note: If, for example, you modify rafters or beams, draw skylights or execute Restore 3D View, the timber/steel elements will be recalculated. This will not update or undo the effects of the Intersect Steel, Timber Elements with Archit. Components tool.

Tip: You should only execute Intersect Timber, Steel Elements with Archit. Components when you have finished designing the rafters. As an alternative, you can activate this tool again after you have modified the timber/steel elements.

To make architectural components intersect timber/steel elements

  1. Click Intersect Steel, Timber Elements with Archit. Components (How).
  2. Select the architectural component (e.g. roof covering) you want to cut out.

As a result, a 'hole' is 'cut' in this component at the point where the two elements meet.
