Restore 3D view

Various modules in the Architecture family

You can use the Restore 3D View tool to restore the three-dimensional view of architectural elements.

To recalculate all the architectural elements

1. Click Restore 3D View (How).
   

   Activate Restore 3D View in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   General notes: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   Stairs

   Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

   • Configuration: Architecture Architecture Edit flyout
   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Modifications flyout
2. To recalculate the 3D view of the architectural elements, do the following:
   • Select the elements you want to recalculate.
     

     • To select a single element, click it.
     • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
     • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

     When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

   • Click All in the input options or double-click with the right mouse button in the workspace to address all the elements in the document.
   • If you want the system to recalculate the priorities of the architectural elements, you first need to click Priority in the Input options before you select the elements you want to recalculate.
     Solving priority conflicts
   • If the processes of deleting or modifying walls results in irregular shapes, the Recreate option usually "recreates" the walls in a single operation.
     Examples
   • You can use the Def Pl option to adapt the display of the default planes to the size of the 3D model.
     You can define whether and how default planes are displayed in isometric views and elevations in the Options - Planes page - Default reference planes area.
3. After this, the program automatically checks the model data. The approach is the same as with Mark Critical Model Data.

   Any critical model data found is flashing in the selection color and a message to this effect is displayed.

   Note: Masking planes are not limited to a single drawing file and can thus affect the representation of architectural elements after Restore 3D View (smart opening symbols are hidden, for example).

   Solution: Carry out Restore 3D View in two steps: first apply this tool to the drawing file with the masking plane and then to all the other drawing files.
