Auto-Room

Module(s): Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

You can use the Auto-Room tool to create several rooms in a specific region in a single operation. The room label and the finish specifications can be assigned at a later stage. This tool requires architectural elements like walls.

This tool is particularly useful when you need to quickly create rooms for initial analyses.

To automatically create rooms

1. Click Auto-Room (How).
   

   Activate Auto-Room in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   • Configuration: Architecture Rooms flyout
2. Click Height to set the room height.
3. Click Intersect in the input options when the interior and exterior walls are in separate documents or when walls touch or penetrate (i.e. the Element interaction and intersection setting was switched off in the Options - Components and architecture page - Architectural settings across modules area when you created the walls).
4. Enter a selection rectangle to define where rooms are to be created automatically.

Note: Use Redefine Rooms, Surfaces, Stories to later label the rooms created in this manner.
