Architectural settings across modules, element interaction

Element interaction lets you define how architectural components of specific component groups behave when they intersect.

The following settings are available:

Off

Architectural elements do not intersect.

Dynamic

Architectural elements belonging to a specific component group intersect other architectural elements of the same group. But they do not interact with components belonging to a different group.

One instance of element interaction: walls which cross each other’s path. A ‘hole’ is created in the first wall in plan view. The hole extends along the entire height of the wall. This is called element interaction. You can determine which wall has a section (”hole”) removed from it by setting the same priority rating for each wall. This interaction always occurs with elements of the same component group. Deleting or moving the vertical wall will cause the other wall to ‘heal’.

(1) A 'hole' is 'cut' in this wall

Static

Elements interact in the same way as in Dynamic mode. The difference is that the horizontal wall will not 'heal' but will have a hole in it when the vertical wall is moved or deleted.
