Notes on DIN277 2005-02

DIN277 2005-02 regulations, effective from February 01, 2005

New DIN 277 regulations came into effect on February 1st, 2005.

Compared with DIN 277-1:1987-06, the following changes were implemented:

• ”Functional area (FA)” was renamed ”working area (WA)”.
• Areas under slopes up to/exceeding 1.50 m are no longer calculated separately.
• "Usable area" (UA) is no longer broken down into "usable floor area" (UFA) and "secondary usable area" (SUA). Both terms were combined into "usable area" (UA).
• Usable areas (UA) can be defined more precisely by occupancy groups: 1 (Living and recreation), 2 (Office work), 3 (Production, manual and machine work, experiments), 4 (Storing, distributing and selling), 5 (Education, training and culture), 6 (Nursing) and 7 (Other usable areas). UFA 1-6 in DIN277 1987-06 is equivalent to UA 1-6; SUA is equivalent to UA 7.
• and so on.

DIN277 2005-02 was integrated in Allplan 2005.0a and has been available since then.

Entering DIN277 attributes

The DIN277, Floor Area tab of the Room tool was revised accordingly:

• You can assign the Occupancy types in accordance with DIN277 2005-02 in the DIN277 attributes area.
• The QuickSelect area attributes area only offers the new occupancy types. Just click the relevant attributes to assign them.

Analyzing DIN277 attributes

You can analyze DIN277 attributes using Area Calculation, Application.

• Reports only use DIN277 2005-02 for analyses.
• Under Type of area calculation, you can configure the program to calculate the overall area in compliance with DIN277 2005-02. If you want to use DIN277 1987-06 for calculations, select Simple height division with factors.
• So that you can use lists to analyze data in accordance with DIN277 2005-02, the 65 DIN277 area and 66 DIN277 volume subfolders were complemented by new lists. You can clearly see which lists were added - their names are followed by 2005.
• In most new lists, the occupancy types of both the new and old DIN277 regulations are analyzed but added up under the new occupancy types.
• You can still analyze data in accordance with DIN277 1987-06. These lists are in the 65 DIN277 area and 66 DIN277 volume subfolders. You can clearly see which lists are based on DIN277 1987-06 - their names are followed by 1987.

  Note: The 1987 lists only analyze attributes of DIN277 1987-06. You should select the Simple height division with factors option for the Type of area calculation and enter the appropriate factor.
