DIN 277 attributes

Enclosure type

Enter the enclosure type here. The default is a (covered and enclosed at full height on all sides). Click Enclosure type... to select the enclosure type by clicking.

Occupancy type

Enter the occupancy type in accordance with DIN 277 2005-02. The default is UA (usable area). Click Occupancy type... to select the occupancy type in a table.

Usable areas (UA) can be defined more precisely by occupancy groups: 1 (Living and recreation), 2 (Office work), 3 (Production, manual and machine work, experiments), 4 (Storing, distributing and selling), 5 (Education, training and culture), 6 (Nursing) and 7 (Other usable areas).

DIN277 area type (for rooms)

This is where you define how a room is to be analyzed and evaluated.

The following area types are available:

N area type (usually used)	The net floor area (NFA) and net cubic content (NCC) are analyzed.
M area type	With this setting, only the net cubic content (NCC) is analyzed; the net floor area (NFA) is ignored. An example is a two-story entrance hall. In this case, the NFA and NCC of the ground floor must be calculated (N area type); for the first upper floor – empty space – only the NCC is required.
L area type (empty space)	Neither the NFA nor the NCC is calculated. However, you can assign finish specifications to the room, which can then be analyzed.

You can specify the area type, which defines how a room is analyzed. The default is N (net floor area and net cubic content).
Click Area type... to select the area type in a dialog box.

Floor area attributes

Type of floor area

Enter the area type here. Click Area type... to select the area type in a dialog box providing further information on each area type.

The following area types are available:

• LI Living space
  

  Living space in apartments and accommodations
  including winter gardens, swimming pools, balconies, loggias and terraces,
  excluding stairs with more than three rises and landings

• SS Secondary space
  

  Cellars, laundries, closets outside the apartment,
  attics, drying rooms, garages and similar rooms.
  

• ES Economic space
  

  Storage rooms, bakeries, smoking chambers,
  stables, barns, closets and similar rooms.

• NL No living space
  

  Shops, business premises, offices –› DIN277
  Not included in floor space schedules
  Room is only used in quantity takeoff operations (finishing surfaces)

This factor only affects floor area attributes.
