Note: The vertical surfaces, ceilings, floors and baseboard defined in the Finish tab are part of the room and cannot be selected, filtered and found by clicking them individually or enclosing them in a selection rectangle. To select all surfaces, click All in the input options.
To analyze individual finishing surfaces or areas, you can use the reports in the Finish - Finishing surfaces folder or the reports in the Trades - Plaster and stucco work folder.

Vertical covering inside, Ceiling covering, Floor covering, Baseboard

Click the attributes you want to change or define. Use the horizontal scroll bar to display further columns with attributes in the table.

Note: There are some particular points to bear in mind when you modify finishing surfaces and baseboard using Redefine Rooms, Surfaces, Stories:

• The attributes are only modified when you have selected the corresponding check box for the Assign/remove vertical surface/ceiling/floor covering or baseboard check box.
• All the attributes you have entered in the table are modified. This means that the entries you have made for all the layers are assigned to all the columns; empty entries are removed.
• If you want to modify individual attributes only, it is a good idea to copy the existing element attributes to the dialog box using Match and to modify the relevant attribute before you select Properties.

Load favorite , Save as a favorite

You can save the current settings for the covering or baseboard as a favorite file or retrieve a favorite file and alter it.

Match

You can copy the settings from an existing room.

Overview of possible attributes and columns:

No

The number of the layer is displayed here. You cannot change this number directly but you can use Insert Layer and Delete layer to manipulate it.

The layer with the highest number is the top layer.

Condition

Material/qualities

You can assign a material from the current catalog or a code text from the Allplan_BCM catalog to the element or layer of the covering.

Thickness (not for baseboard)

You can enter the thickness of the layer or coat here.

Factor

You can assign a factor to the element. This factor is important for subsequent evaluations and analyses.

With rooms, for instance, you might enter a factor of 0.5 if the floor space is to be calculated as half space.

Trade

You can assign a building trade for the element or coat/layer.

Text

Attribute

You can assign attributes to the element.

Hatching, Pattern, Fill, Style area (floor and ceiling only)

Use this to assign a hatching style, pattern, fill or style area to each layer of a floor or ceiling.

Note: Floors or ceilings with multiple construction layers can be displayed in architectural sections. Define the necessary settings in Hidden Line Image, Wireframe, Hidden Line Image, Special settings for archit. components.

Surface (not for baseboard)

Note: This is where you can modify the custom surface of the top layer; all the other attributes are not changed.
The button for selecting surfaces is only available when the Assign/remove vertical surface/ceiling/floor covering or baseboard check box is not selected.

Height (vertical surface covering only)

Use this to set the height for lateral covering created with Room or Finish Specifications. The height setup you define always applies to the room with the lateral covering.

The following options are provided for defining the height setup:

• Same height setting as room
  
  
• Same height setting as bottom level of room with offset at bottom
  
  
  (1) = height 1, (2) = height 2
• Same height setting as room with offset at top and bottom
  
  
  (1) = height 1, (2) = height 2

Total finish

Load favorite, Save as a favorite

You can save the current settings for the entire finish, including all the coverings and baseboards as a favorite file, or retrieve a saved finish file and alter it.

Match

You can match the finish of an existing room in its entirety.

Delete finish

You can use the Delete Finish button to delete all the current finishing coats in the Finish/Story tab or in the relevant dialog box.

Layer

Add layer

You can use this to enter an additional layer/coat.
Select a covering, click Insert Layer and enter the coat/layer number.

Delete layer

This deletes the active layer/coat.

Match (not for Finish Specifications)

You can use the attributes (Material/qualities, Thickness, Trade, ...) from a wizard or an existing room for the current layer. In the case of a room that consists of several layers, only the layer with the same number is used.

Attribute catalog assignment

Catalog assignment for coverings and baseboard

Click the Catalog... button to change the catalog assignment for selecting materials or names for rooms, finishing surfaces, (special) surfaces and baseboard.

Tip: Room names ending with numbers are automatically incremented if the Name ++ option is selected instead of a catalog in Catalog assignment for selecting name/qualities.
