Checking custom reference planes for defects

Corrupt architectural elements

The problems mentioned above can also be caused by a pair of custom reference planes (e.g. a roof frame).

To check custom reference planes (or other architectural elements)

1. Click Copy, Move Elements between Documents (How).
   

   Activate Copy/Move Elements between Documents in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: File

   • Toolbar: Special
2. In the Drawing File dialog box, click Copy to destination drawing file.
3. Enter the number of an empty drawing file.
4. Select all the elements except for the custom reference planes.
   Use appropriate architectural filters.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

5. Close the drawing file with the corrupt elements and open the new one.

   If the problem no longer occurs, you have found the reason for the difficulties.
   Create the pair of custom reference planes again.

Tip: You can use the approach described above to check any architectural component (e.g a wall or column).

Tip: You can also copy parts of the drawing file to a new file and then check this copy. The quickest way is to copy smaller and smaller parts of a drawing file until you find the corrupt elements.
