When you select this check box, the clipping line is placed. You can specify the Pen, Line, Color and Layer for the clipping path.

You can specify whether the clipping line is drawn using a continuous or a dashed line and enter the length of the line segments.

Here you can specify whether the clipping path is to be displayed with direction symbols. You can also select the direction symbol and enter its size. (If you enter 0, the size of the direction symbol is determined automatically.)

The direction symbol is created within a min-max-box whose height is equivalent to the predefined size and whose width is 1.6 times this height. When you enter 0 for the size, the text height of the label is used for the height of the min-max-box.

The height of the actual symbol is three-quarters of the height of the min-max-box. The offset between the tip of the symbol and the inner edge of the min-max-box is the same as the height.

L = Length of line segments

When you select this check box, boundary lines are used to display notional edges. These are visible edges that are created in the process of intersecting the components with the section object and that do not represent the boundary of an area.
You can specify the projection of these boundary lines in the unit of length set. In addition, you can select the Pen, Line, Color and Layer for these lines. The preview in the dialog box changes accordingly.

When this check box is not selected, the corresponding edges are not displayed.

Tip: To display the notional edges in the same way as visible edges, select the check box, enter 0.00 for the projection and set the format properties for the boundary lines so that they match those of the visible edges.

When you select this check box, a thick line is used to represent edges resulting from the intersection of the components with the section object. In addition, these edges must be in the clipping plane and they must represent boundaries of the components. You can specify whether this is to apply to the enclosing edges only or to all edges. In the first case, all the other edges are created with the format properties of the model data.
You can specify the Pen, Line, Color and Layer for the thick line. The preview in the dialog box changes accordingly.

When this check box is not selected, the format properties of the model data are applied to all the edges.

You can use this option to display the intersected areas of architectural components and 3D objects together with their surface elements assigned. The preview in the dialog box changes accordingly.

When you select this check box, the format properties defined for hidden edges are used to represent hidden edges resulting from the intersection of the components with the section object. You can specify the Pen, Line, Color and Layer. The preview in the dialog box changes accordingly.

When this check box is not selected, the hidden and intersected edges are not displayed.

Note: The hidden and intersected edges are only displayed when you have selected the Display hidden edges check box in the settings for hidden line images. Intersected edges that are not hidden and not in the clipping plane are displayed in the same way as boundary lines.

You can assign a Hatching style, Pattern, Fill or Style Area to intersected areas of 3D objects without surface elements and to all hidden and intersected areas.

Select the relevant check box and select a surface element. To switch a surface element off, clear the relevant check box. The preview in the dialog box changes accordingly.

You can enter text settings for the section identifier (font, font size etc.) and you can specify a name for the identifier. The label is placed at the clipping path.

Use to match the parameters of any text.

You can use this option to display intersected objects. The section object, which is given the layer you have specified for the Clipping path, is displayed but will be excluded from printouts.

Notes:

• You can use the Modify Offset tool to change the extents of the section object. When you modify the model of the section object, you can use the input options to specify whether all edges are moved or the selected edge only.
• When you select the section object in the Modify View and Section Properties tool, the display mode (Wire or Hidden) cannot be changed.
• You can use the Show Clipping Path tool to display the section object with or without the clipping path in individual views, sections or 3D elements.
  You can also show the section object in sections using the Add to View tool.
• To hide the section object in individual views and sections, use the Remove from View tool.

When you check this box, the upper and lower delimiting planes of the section are defined by the selected elements when you specify the clipping line in plan view. Similarly, specifying the clipping line in an elevation or front view defines the front and back delimiting planes.
Otherwise, you define the delimiting planes by entering values for the Top level and Bottom level. In this case, it is useful to enter the clipping line in plan as you usually know the height of the components while the coordinates of the floor plan are unknown.

You can reduce two dimensions of the first clipping area by entering a second clipping line. You cannot enlarge the clipping area.
