Show Clipping Path
Module(s): Associative Views
You can use the Show Clipping Path tool to display the section object of a section with or without clipping path in a view, section or in 3D elements in order to check which elements are included in the section, for example.
To display the section object with or without clipping path
- If necessary, use the Modify View and Section Properties tool to select the section object which you want to display with or without clipping path in a different view or section or within the 3D elements.
- Click Show Clipping Path (How).
- Click the section object you want to display with or without clipping path
- You can control how the clipping path is displayed by clicking Show Clipping Path on the Context toolbar and setting the display parameters in the Section dialog box.
Note: The section identifier specified in the Section dialog box is only considered if there is no section identifier. The settings in the Section object area have no effect; the section object is always displayed.
- Click the view or section in which you want to display the section object with or without clipping path. To display the clipping path in the 3D model, click the section object there.
The clipping path cannot be created if the viewing direction of the view or section clicked is perpendicular to the plane on which the clipping path lies.
Notes:
- You can also show the section object in sections using the Add to View tool.
- To hide the section object in individual views and sections, use the Remove from View tool. This also removes the clipping path, if present.
- You can use the Delete tool to remove the clipping path from individual views, sections or in the 3D elements.
