Adding a placed SmartPart to the library

Module(s): SmartParts + SmartParts library

You can use this approach to save a SmartPart you have already placed to the library.

To save a placed SmartPart to the SmartParts library

1. Open the SmartParts library in one of the following ways:
   • Click SmartPart (How).
     

     Activate Insert SmartPart in one of the following ways

     • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools SmartParts

     • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

     SmartParts

   • Select the Library palette and open the SmartParts folder.
2. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the SmartPart.

   Note: You cannot create new SmartParts in the Default folder.

3. Click Insert SmartPart at the bottom of the palette.
4. Enter a name for the SmartPart and press ENTER to confirm.
5. Select the SmartPart you want to save in the library.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

   The SmartPart is saved in the library.
