Print settings

Tool(s): Print Layouts + Export HPGL File, Bitmap File

You can use the Print profile tab to define general print settings, such as print profiles, pen and color assignments and so on.

When you have selected several layouts and specified that the current print profile is to be used for all layouts in the Output multiple times area, the settings on this tab are not available. When you have selected As in layout, you cannot change the print profile but you can temporarily change all the other settings.

Use print profile

A print profile gives a uniform look-and-feel to your layouts. Click the button and select the print profile file you want to use.

As the pen assignment is also saved in the print profile, you can only make a selection when the Pen and color assignments check box is selected.
Tip: If you still want to use the uniform parameters of a print profile, select the Pen and color assignments check box, choose the print profile and then clear the check box again.

Pen and color assignments

Using the Pen and Color Assignments dialog box, you can assign the pens and colors used in Allplan to the pen thicknesses and colors of the printer. You need to select the check box if you want to define these assignments by clicking the Set button.
When the check box is not selected, the assignments are ignored and all elements print using the pen thicknesses and colors currently assigned to them. This way you can print layouts independently of resources (if the layout contains NDW files in which different thickness settings were assigned to the pens).
You can use the Color stands for pen and Use color 1 for all elements options in Show/Hide to control how colors are displayed.
As the pen assignment is also saved in the print profile, you cannot select a print profile when the check box is not selected.

Fills and bitmap areas

You can specify whether color printers print fills and bitmap areas in color or in Grayscale. If the Pen and color assignments check box is not selected, fills and bitmap areas always print in color on color printers, regardless of the setting,

Line colors / Use one pen only / Gamma correction

These settings are the same as those you can find in the More settings area of the Pen and Color Assignments dialog box. You can change these settings here without having to open the dialog box.

Save print profile

If you have logged in as the administrator or as a user with administrator privileges, you can save the settings of the Print profile tab and thus create and modify print profiles.
