Using print profiles

Module(s): Layout

Print profiles are the equivalent of templates in a word processing program. By assigning a print profile, you ensure that the layouts have a uniform appearance and are in line with office or project conventions. Print profiles are saved as a file with the extension npp.

The following settings are saved in a print profile:

Using the Print Layouts tool, the Allplan administrator can create print profiles for the entire office. A default configuration (standard.npp) comes with the program. You can use it as the basis.

When printing layouts, you can select a print profile for every layout or you can choose not to use print profiles at all. This setting is saved with the layout and applies the next time you load the layout.
You can temporarily change the settings of the print profile for a single print operation. The next time you load the layout, the settings saved in the print profile are used again.

When printing in batch mode, you can use a fixed print profile for all the layouts or you can use the print profiles saved with the individual layouts. In this case, you can make temporary changes in the print profile of the current layout. The global print settings are used for layouts without print profiles.

The print profile you select in the Export PDF Data tool has a higher priority rating than the print profiles saved with the layouts; therefore, this print profile is used for all the PDF files that are created in batch mode. This setting is saved in the favorite file and can thus be used in conjunction with Allplan Exchange Layout Distribution.
