Parameters for layout borders

Tool(s): Layout Border

You can set the following parameters for a layout border:

Format

You can specify the Format and the Orientation for the layout border.

When you select an entry in the Format list box, the associated Width and Height values are automatically entered in the boxes below. If the Width and/or Height you enter does not match any entry in the list box, [User-defined format] is entered for the name of the Format. If you have logged in as the administrator or as a user with administrator privileges, you can replace this entry with a name and thus define new formats for layout borders.

Tip: If you do not know the exact size of the border, you can also define its size using the mouse when you place the border.

Border type

Here, you can specify a format for the border. Foldmarks are created depending on the border type you select. The following border types are available:

When you change the settings in the Border definition area, [User-defined type] is entered for the name of the type. If you have logged in as the administrator or as a user with administrator privileges, you can replace this entry with a name and thus define new display parameters for layout borders.

Border pen and line type

This setting defines the pen, line type and color (when the Color stands for pen option is off) used for the outer border, the inner border and other lines (foldmarks and text).. When you clear the relevant check boxes, the display is suppressed.
