Using element groups

You can combine any 2D elements as well as specific architectural elements into groups.

An element group is characterized by the following properties:

Use Element Group to combine elements into a group.

To modify the properties of a single element in a group, click this element with the right mouse button and select Format Properties on the shortcut menu. To modify the properties of an entire element group, select Modify Format Properties.

Existing element groups can be added to a new element group.

To edit elements in a group or to remove elements from a group, click the relevant element group with the right mouse button, and, on the shortcut menu, select Open element group. When you have finished editing the element group, click it with the right mouse button again, and this time select Close element group on the shortcut menu. When you switch to a different drawing file using Open on a Project-Specific Basis or click Save, open element groups are closed automatically.

Using Expand Element Group, you can add elements to an existing element group without ungrouping it.

Using Ungroup Elements, you can explode element groups into discrete elements, which can then be selected individually again.
