Bring to Front (pattern defaults)

Pattern Definition

You can use the Bring to Front and Send to Back tools to place elements of a pattern definition in the foreground or in the background, i.e. in front of or behind other elements. This is particularly important when you include fills in pattern definitions.

To place elements in the foreground or background

1. Click Bring to Front (How) or Send to Back (How).
   

   Activate Send to Back in one of the following ways

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Activate Bring to Front in one of the following ways

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Pattern defaults

2. Select the elements you want to place in the foreground.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.
