Measure Coordinates
Measure
You can use Measure Coordinates to measure the coordinates of a point.
To measure the coordinates of a point
- Click Measure Coordinates.
Or
Click Measure (How) and then Coordinates.
- Click the point whose coordinates you want to measure.
The following values are displayed:
- X coordinate
- Y coordinate
- Z coordinate
When Offset coordinates are defined in the Project settings dialog box, the following is also returned:
- X coordinate without offset
- Y coordinate without offset
- Z coordinate without offset
In the case of point symbols, the following is also returned:
- No. (point number)
- Code/S (point code or station)
- Do the following:
- Click Set precision to specify the decimal places for the values returned. The values are rounded off accordingly.
- Click to place the measurement result as text (only possible if you have not selected the measurement tool while another tool is active).
- Click one of the values to use it for a tool or for the calculator.
- Click and then, in the dialog box, click a value to copy it to the Clipboard.
- Click OK to measure another element.
- Click Cancel to quit the measurement tool.
Note: The coordinates returned are relative to the origin of the absolute coordinate system.
Note: To get the coordinates of a point by entering its point number, use Global Point.
