Importing scanned images
Module(s): Scan
You have been given a scanned image – possible as a file attachment or on a storage medium.
To import scanned images in any bitmap format, the CAD program needs to be able to access them:
- Copy the file attachments into a suitable data exchange folder.
- Decompress the compressed file in a suitable data exchange folder.
- Insert the medium with the uncompressed bitmap or RLC files in the appropriate drive.
Note: Although Allplan can convert any standard bitmap format to RLC format, it is advisable to use TIFF format (TIFF G4 is best) as data in this format can be converted quickly.
To import scanned images in the current project folder
- Click Link with Scanned Image (How).
- To import a scanned image using the Link with Scanned Image dialog box, do the following:
- If the scanned image already exists as a RLC file in any folder, click the button beside Image and select the path and the file.
- Click Import to import any file from any path.
The program displays a number of dialog boxes. Select the format, path and name of the source file, enter the name of the target file in RLC format and define the to be used for the conversion.
- Define the display parameters.
- Click OK to confirm the settings.
The file is copied to the project folder and loaded and it is associated with the drawing file.
