Link with Scanned Image, Parameters

Tool(s): Link with Scanned Image

The parameters you set here affect the image display and not the file itself.

Scanned image

Scanned image:

Select the scanned image (RLC format) here to be placed in the background of the drawing file.

Note: Click at bottom in the dialog box on to clear the link between the scanned image and the drawing file.

Import

You can import bitmaps in common formats from any path and convert them to images in RLC format. The image is automatically saved in the current project.

Export

You can export scanned images in RLC format to any path.

Settings

Color:

Set the color with which the scanned image is displayed. You can choose from a palette of 256 colors.
You can subsequently print the image on a printer using the color you selected.

Note: You can assign the image one color only.

Dpi value (50-1000):

This sets the resolution of the scanned image so that it is displayed true to scale.
To ensure the image is true to scale, the DPI value you set here should be the same as the value used when the image was scanned.

Zoom factor (0.001-1000):

You can set a zoom factor to resize the image. This is particularly useful when the DPI setting is correct but the image does not have the required scale.
Entering a zoom factor of 2 will double the size of the image.

Note: This function only affects the appearance of the image in the drawing file and does not affect the file itself.

Print

Acceleration (1-100):

Scanned bitmap images are comprised of series of lines.
To accelerate the print operation, you can opt to skip every nth line during printing.
This speeds up the process considerably but results in poorer quality output.

Tip: Layouts are usually scanned using dpi values of 300 up to 400. In this case, enter an Acceleration value between 1 (exact) and 5 (rough).

Note: Print acceleration should always be set to 1 for the original plan.

Saturation (as a %):

Scanned bitmap images are comprised of series of lines. The size of the image determines the thickness of the pen used to print the lines.
If the value for the intensity of the printout is n%, the individual lines are printed using n% of the computed line thickness.

Note: In general, the original plan is always printed with the saturation set to 100%.
