Placing excess mesh

Tool(s): Place Individually

You can use the Place Individually tool to place pieces of excess mesh from a non-associative mesh cutting diagram

To place excess mesh

  1. Click Place Individually (How).
  2. If you are working in Reinforce with 3D model mode and you have not yet created any views, you must select the view so as to assign the basic spatial orientation and create a view.
If views already exist, click one (the Old button is active in the input options) and continue working in it. However, you can also create a new view (the New button is active in the input options) and create a new reinforcement cage with this view.
  3. Define the location of the placement in space so as to establish the relationship (distance) between the defined spatial plane and the placement (with Reinforce with 3D model only).
  4. Click OK to confirm the settings.
  5. Click Excess Mesh Placement on the Place Individually Context toolbar.

In addition to the current viewport, the Excess Mesh Placement window shows all meshes with pieces of excess mesh. The data in all the active drawing files is taken into account. The manner in which the meshes are displayed depends on the settings in the Mesh cutting diagram area on the Reinforcement - Representation page of the Options.

If there is no excess mesh, the program displays an appropriate message.
Note: There may not be any excess mesh even when you place cut mesh. The reason for this is that all cut meshes put together result in whole meshes. For example, two half meshes result in one whole mesh without any excess.

  6. Click the piece of excess mesh you want to place in the Excess mesh placement window.

The Excess Mesh Placement window is closed again.

  7. Specify the placement point of the piece of excess mesh or change the parameters of the mesh before you place it.
  8. To place more pieces of excess mesh, click Excess Mesh Placement again.
