You can use the Reports tool to generate reports of architectural elements, objects, 3D solids with architectural attributes and engineering components. Reports can be sent to the printer and imported as PDF files.

Reports are used for analyzing data in Allplan. They are saved as templates in RDLC format.

Reports can be printed, placed as PDF files in documents and exported to Excel and other formats.
You can change the layout of reports and save the result as a new template.

Note: Some of the modules such as Landscaping or Urban Planning include reports specially tailored to the discipline they cover. You can access these reports by clicking Plants Reports or Urban Planning Reports. They are handled in the same way as the reports described here.

To generate reports

1. Click Reports (How).
   

   Activate Reports in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Templates: Reports, Legends, Labels

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Templates: Reports, Legends, Labels

   Smart Symbols

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   FM Manager

   • Configuration: Architecture Architecture Edit flyout
   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Modifications flyout
2. Select a folder and report in the Reports dialog box.

   Note: Clicking the Options icon at bottom right in the dialog box opens the Options for reports and quantity calculations.

3. Select the elements you want to analyze.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   For more information on the options available for selecting elements in Allplan, see Selecting elements, overview.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

   Note: Click in the Input Options to find elements based on advanced criteria (material, for example).
   This is done in the same way as in the Find Elements tool.

   Tip: You can use Group Rooms, Stories in the Input Options to select the names of one or several groups of rooms or stories, which are then analyzed.

   The report is displayed in the Report Viewer.

4. The report is displayed in the Report Viewer and you can edit it as follows:
   • You can customize the report,
   • Print it,
   • Place it in the current document,
   • Save it as a file in Excel, PDF or Word format or
   • Edit it using the Layout Designer.
     You can save changes as a new template in RDLC format.
5. Print or save the report.
