Setting a camera path

Module(s): Animation + Shortcut menu in navigation mode

You can use the Set Camera Path tool to create the story board for a movie. You can play back this movie immediately or later. If you want, you can also record it (see From camera path).

You define the camera path by positioning cameras in specific places. In doing so, you specify the viewing angle and distance from the model for each camera position, thus setting the view of the model. The program then creates the camera path by interpolating between the camera positions you defined.

You can specify both the total time of the movie and the intervals between the individual camera positions. By setting the number of images per second, you control how long it takes the program to calculate the movie and how smoothly the movie will run when you play it back later.

In order to define the camera positions, you have various options. You can also use a combination of options.

What do you want to do?
