Recording movies

You can use the Record Movie tool (How) to calculate a sequence of animated or rendered bitmaps from a 3D model.

Activate Record Movie in one of the following ways

• Menu bar: Create Presentation Animation

• Toolbar: Create
• Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

Animation

• Shortcut menu: Navigation Mode selected - Right mouse button

In order to set the view, you can use a camera path you defined in advance. You can also rotate the camera by 360 degrees (for interior views) or let the camera orbit around the model by 360 degrees. In addition, you can let the sun wander, thus calculating a sun study.

• From camera path - the camera moves along the camera positions you defined beforehand.
• Sun study - the sun moves over the fixed model.
• Rotate camera by 360 degrees - the stationary camera turns by 360 degrees.
• Orbit camera by 360 degrees - camera moves around the model.

For the calculation method, you can choose between animation and various rendering methods, producing photo-realistic results.

Tip: If you enter a name for the AVI movie, the program will automatically create an AVI movie from the images; no add-ons are required. AVI movies will run on any Window computer (e.g., your client's).
