Adjust hip, valley rafter in V-shaped manner

You can use the Adjust Hip, Valley Rafter in V-Shaped Manner tool to modify hip rafters and valley rafters so that their bottom side adjusts in a V-shaped manner to the roof pitch.

To adjust hip, valley rafters in a v-shaped manner

1. Click Adjust Hip, Valley Rafter in V-Shaped Manner (How).
   

   Activate Adjust Hip, Valley Rafter in V-Shaped Manner in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Architecture Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

2. Select the hip rafters or valley rafters you want to modify.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

   The bottom side of the rafters is adjusted to the roof pitch.
