Rafter-supporting Purlins

You can use the Rafter-supporting Purlins tool to create rafter-supporting purlins and battens.
To place rafter-supporting purlins
- Click Rafter-supporting Purlins (How).
- Select an option in the Input options: Custom / Plane / RCover.
- Click Custom to create a temporary plane for the rafter placement.
- Click Plane if roof planes or custom planes already exist.
- Click RCover if a roof covering already exists.
- If you want, you can now modify the purlin parameters.
Use one of the following provided on the Context toolbar. - Define the length of the region in which the purlins will be placed by clicking a start point and an end point on the outline of the plane.
- On the Context toolbar, you can define how the rafter-supporting purlins are placed.
- To finish designing the rafter-supporting purlins, press ESC.
- Rafter-supporting purlin design will now finish. Save changes?
Click Yes. - To place more rafter-supporting purlins in another region, repeat steps 2 through 5.
- Press ESC to quit the tool.
The purlins are always created parallel to the eaves and with an overhang on both sides.
