Vertical surface

You can use the Vertical Surface tool to create (special) vertical surfaces. These have a higher priority than the vertical surfaces entered using the Room and Finish Specifications tools. Use this tool to enter wall paneling that does not extend up to the ceiling, for example, or to enter vertical surfaces that have the height of the room but are different from the other surfaces in the room.

To create (special) vertical surfaces

1. Click Vertical Surface (How).
   

   Activate Vertical Surface in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

2. If you want, you can now modify the parameters of the vertical surface.
   Several options are provided on the context toolbar for this.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match Properties to copy the settings form an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
3. Enter the vertical surface using the polyline entry tools.
4. When you have created the vertical surface, you can define and place a label for it on the context toolbar that appears.

Tip: You can activate Properties at any time while entering the surface.
