Drawing Upstands on Flank Walls with Maximum Component Height on TL

Tool(s): Upstand

For flank walls where the maximum component height is given by the TL, entering the upstand requires several steps: each slope up to the ridge is a separate operation as is the horizontal section.

To draw an upstand on flank walls where the maximum component height is given by the TL

  1. When designing the roof, display the elevation lines with the component’s maximum height so that you can see the “fold points” and use these when entering the upstand.

Note: The height information for the slopes can be taken from the wall; the height of the flat section has to be entered as an absolute elevation.

  2. Start with the slope. The height information is copied.
  3. To enter the horizontal section, click Properties and then Setup. Set the height of the upstand as an absolute value.
  4. For the second slope you need to reset the original setting in Properties.
