Any 3D Foundation

Module(s): Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

You can use the Any 3D Foundation tool to convert several 3D lines, 3D surfaces and 3D objects to foundations in a single operation. You can also use this tool to convert foundations you have created as solid components (engineering) to architectural elements.

To convert 3D entities to any 3D foundation

1. Click Any 3D Foundation (How).
   

   Activate Any 3D Foundation in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

2. Select the 3D entities to be converted.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   For more information on the options available for selecting elements in Allplan, see Selecting elements, overview.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

   The elements are converted to 3D foundations.

Note: Non-geometric attributes like Trade, Material or Computation mode can be assigned using Properties on the shortcut menu or the Change Archit. Properties tool.
